The good news today is that you’re getting afternoon sports action to watch while finishing up your chores before the holiday. Central Florida vs. Marshall are on at 2:30 in the Gasparilla Bowl on ESPN. And then it’s Packers at Vikings later tonight. There’s also some basketball tournament in Hawaii to have in the background as you’re hanging out with family later tonight.

Those of you who’ve been around here for five years or so will remember Cleveland Mall Guy and the content run I had with that guy years ago. People started spotting him all over the Cleveland region and would send in photos of him and his swagalicious outfits. Then things went quiet from CMG & I moved on. Maybe he was sick. Maybe he quit wearing the outfits. Maybe Cleveland people just became so used to seeing him that it wasn’t special anymore.

Then this weekend a reader sent in a photo of CMG and my emotions went through the roof. CMG IS F-ING BACK BABY! The outfits are still on point. The scrolling belt buckle or whatever it is is still on point. The glasses are still swagged TF out. It’s like CMG hasn’t missed a step.

Let’s go back to the most comprehensive report on CMG that exists on the Internet from Cleveland Scene:

Let’s go to the Blue Tractor BBQ & Brewery in Ann Arbor where I was tipped off that there was a Santa & elves Christmas party fight that I needed to see from last week that has yet to go viral, but since we’re just a couple days away from Christmas this one still has time to blow up. The Blue Tractor, a 3.5 star place on Yelp, is one of those places you’d least expect to see Michigan Men brawling in Christmas costumes, but that’s exactly what went down December 14. It’s in downtown Ann Arbor where rich coastal people come to eat and drink when they’re in town to visit their kids.

Were you at the Blue Tractor that night when Santa wanted to fight everyone? I’d love to hear some context. People on social media suddenly want context, context, context. 10 years ago they didn’t care. Now all of a sudden they need full details so someone help fill in the details on this one.

Time for bowl season….Independence Bowl: Louisiana Tech vs. Miami at 4 on ESPN and then the Quick Lane Bowl: Pittsburgh at Eastern Michigan at 8 on ESPN. Ric Flair learning to ice skate is my new drug in life. Give me 20 Ric Flair ice skating videos and it’s better than 100 Eagles fan fight videos. There’s something refreshing about watching a 70-year-old, 16-time world champion, trying something new in life while on a holiday vacation to Vail, Colorado. Ric knew he’d be falling down and possibly risking an injury to an already ravaged body, but there he was giving it his all while the camera was rolling.

I received a new computer monitor, some socks, a book, a new mouse pad, some screwdrivers and other things for Christmas, but at the end of the day this right here is the best gift of 2019. The guy is the gift that keeps on giving.

Did I mention that Ric went skiing at Vail, too? This guy was in the hospital back in May. What a warrior. I would’ve been back at the hotel in the jacuzzi, not on the slopes.

I’m pretty sure it’s a tradition to check in with the NSFWBDs the day after Christmas to see how Santa treated them this year. I like to see if there’s any new drama out there, but 2019 seems to be a pretty typical Christmas for the BDs. They like to tell the little ones that Santa isn’t real & that they’re the ones who bought the gifts so credit is given to the right person.

Some ask for blunts. Some joke that they’re going to rob Santa when he breaks in with his giant bag. Believe it or not, I actually watched the final 6-7 minutes of the Clippers-Lakers game because Vegas Dave & Holly Sonders were courtside and I wanted to see if anything crazy happened like Bron running over Dave’s Birkin bag. Over that final five minutes Bron just kept passing the ball around the three-point line, wouldn’t take an easy basket and the Lakers gave up a lead, missed something like a dozen threes and lost 111-106. It was brutal. Add in the fact that Patrick Beverley knocked a ball out of Bron’s hand in a critical spot, giving the ball to the Clippers and you have a worst-case scenario for the League.

It wasn’t one of those finishes that turns the NBA on Christmas into one of those can’t miss sports moments on a day where ESPN doesn’t give you viewing options. You would think, based on the lack of options, the game would’ve been a ratings bonanza for the WWL. Eh, bad news…last night’s marquee NBA game was down 14% vs. Bron’s 2018 Christmas Day game against the Golden State Warriors.

Here I’ve been the guy saying for the last decade or so that there’s no need to watch the regular season games and I would get absolutely drilled for saying the NBA was worthless before the conference finals. I’ve been told there’s all this drama I can’t miss or I won’t know what’s going on in May. I’ve been told by NBA nerds that regular season NBA is the best reality show on TV. I’ve been told that it’s the best drama you can find on TV.

Well, it sure looks like people don’t want to watch the best drama on TV because the NBA is getting drilled in the ratings game.

The NBA's ugly year continues. The much-hyped Lakers-Clippers showdown was down 14 percent from LeBron's Christmas game last year. Overall, the day was down 10 percent.

The current deal signed by ESPN and TNT is a 9-year, $24 billion contract that runs through the 2024-25 season.

Antonio Brown is preparing for his huge ‘No White Woman 2020’ campaign by spending quality time in bed with recording artist Stephanie Acevedo who is famous for her reality role on VH1’s Cartel Crew and for her work on Instagram where she checks in with 813,000+ followers who like to get beauty tips and clothing ideas from the half-Cuban and half-Puerto Rican.

Things have heated up between AB & Acevedo in December, the month in which the former NFL wide receiver announced his plan for ‘No White Woman 2020’, a campaign that I assume means he’s giving up white women and all the trouble that comes along with them. Honestly, I didn’t think there were many white woman in Miami anyway so he shouldn’t have a problem giving them up.

Joe Burrow has a cold and now comes this news. I said it Thursday and here we go…it sounds like LSU is deal with a cold that might be making its way around the team. Today we find out that Coach O “has the sniffles,” a day after Joe Burrow said “a little bit” when asked if he was sick. The national media has been sleepwalking through this week and hasn’t fired up this storyline yet, but it’s coming. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

The ESPN talking heads have been off for Christmas and haven’t gotten their hands on this, but it’s sitting out there ready to explode. LSU is going into this game with two of their most important components — Coach O’s brain and Joe’s arm — dealing with colds.

Laugh all you want, but these guys have been flying all around the country the last couple weeks and doing everything ESPN has asked of them. It’s new territory for this program and add in a cold. I’m just sayin’.

Karen in Baltimore is mad at Lamar Jackson for gifting Rolex watches to his offensive linemen instead of donating the money to charity and taking the teammates out to dinner as a gift. That’s right, her name is Karen. And she’s worried about how Lamar Jackson spends that $2.3 million or so he makes per season. Karen thinks Lamar makes “insane” money and he’s not being a good citizen with it.

Uh, ok Karen. It’s people like Karen that don’t understand that in circumstances like this Lamar might not have even paid for the Rolexes. He might have a marketing side deal going on where Rolex puts up the watches knowing that Lamar’s going to be playing ball well into the playoffs & will be a marketing asset. Or maybe he did pay cash for those watches. Doesn’t matter one way or the other.

The holiday season was in full swing, with high hopes for the Ravens, when I read that Lamar Jackson gifted Rolexes to his offensive line. So disappointing that in an age where professional athletes are making an insane amount of money he couldn’t have donated to charities — and done it in the name of his offensive line — then treated his teammates to dinner. Those players can all afford their own Rolexes, so it is very discouraging that someone didn’t give him a little guidance. It just flaunts the amount of money they make and don’t know what to do with. Sorry, Lamar, I am not such a big fan now.

Florida Man is in trouble for revving his lawn mower & keeping people up at night / via

Florida Man Robert Wayne Miller looks like the kind of guy who really loves his lawn mower and the power it produces. He loves it so much (allegedly) that he likes to make it hum at all hours of the night, according to his neighbors who finally hit their breaking point and called the cops and asked that they do something to make it stop.

If you think this was Rob’s first run-in with the fuzz, you’d be mistaken. Earlier this year, he was arrested for making a homemade gun that was fired off during an incident and landed him in jail. I have to assume that wasn’t his first run-in with the law. That’s not normal for a Florida Man.

Robert Wayne Miller, 57, is accused of revving his lawnmower so loud, it could be heard three houses down. Deputies said when they told Miller to stop revving the mower and that he could be violating a state statute, he told them he didn’t care.

One of Miller’s neighbor’s told deputies his peace was being disturbed, and Miller woke up his kids and sick wife with all the noise he was making with the mower, according to an arrest affidavit.

Another neighbor said he could not sleep at night with all of the noise Miller was making with the mower.

A third neighbor told deputies she was sick and wanted Miller to stop because he was keeping her awake.

I watched the body cam footage of cops trying to get Mr. Miller to come out and sign papers over the disturbing the peace charge and that’s when you hear Bobby revving the engine on his tractor. It’s Pure Florida if you want to check it out.

I feel like I’ve posted Instagram model & biochemistry graduate Lauren Blake at some point based on her degree, but I can’t seem to find anything doing a Google search so I guess this is Lauren’s maiden voyage here on the site. Why does now make sense? Because Lauren worked hard on her Christmas card photo and because it’s now winter and your girlfriend/wife is looking for motivation as she heads into 2020 on her Peloton or treadmill that you got her for Christmas.

Lauren is the perfect #2020goalsgains inspiration for your wife. She’s obviously really smart since she graduated with a biochemistry degree and she has worked her way into IG shape that has turned into 451k followers. She’s also Miss Swimsuit L.A. 2018. Add it all up and your wife/girlfriend should be doing exactly what Lauren is doing. Eat right, do fitness right, travel right, Instagram right.

By the way, I keep thinking of what would happen if Lauren showed up on Put In Bay at say the Mist pool. Pretty sure you’d have packs of angry women bad-mouthing Lauren because she’s in shape and hasn’t been pounding Bud heavies like it’s her job. Ladies, stop being angry. Study up on Lauren’s game and learn to live it.

Joe Mixon and the Bengals celebrated beating the Browns today in Cincinnati by Mixon bowling over a ref with his helmet following a victory formation, something you don’t see very often out of this franchise. Mixon clearly wasn’t trying to knock the guy down when he launched his helmet in what is a weird victory celebration.

What a day it was for the Bengals. They had the No. 1 draft pick (Joe Burrow) locked up, the Browns were coming to town with a coach that’s about to be fired and for once it was Cincinnati that could play with house money. Nothing to mess up in the draft, Andy Dalton’s final game and then Mixon goes and takes out the ref. Everyone go get a vacation. You need it.

A Denver Broncos security guard reportedly broke his ankle during a fan on the field chase tonight at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium. Or as we all used to call it — Mile High. Photos from the run show Broncos fan leading security on a high-speed chase that ends with the security guard landing awkwardly and led to him being carted off the field while Broncos fan was arrested and sent off to jail.

I’ve been at this a long time and fans running on NFL fields is something you don’t see very often so eat it up fellas. The regular season is over in Denver at 7-9, but the fans think they have their franchise QB — who was rapping on the sideline today — and a fan put on a show at the expense of a security guard’s ankle. What a way to end the decade in Denver.
