Could this have happened to a better guy around the Christmas holiday? Joey Porter is still sitting in jail this morning on felony bad check writing charges, according to the Kern County Sheriff (California) Department booking site.
Media reports say that the Steelers former loudmouth was arrested Friday night after a traffic stop.
Lt. Scott Tunnicliffe of the Bakersfield Police Department said Porter, who retired from pro football after last season, was pulled over on a traffic stop at 9:46 p.m. Friday at the corner of Etchert and Calloway in west Bakersfield.
Of course we went looking for a mugshot. We’ve yet to locate that photo, but we can show you the booking report.
This isn’t Joey’s first rodeo with cops. There was the arrest for assaulting a cop and DUI. As you can see from his booking page, it seems Joey will be spending Christmas in jail since it’ll be hard to get in front of a judge on Christmas Eve.
Sorry, bro.
