While you were sleeping, a new face in American tennis cleared a hurdle in her march towards stardom. 19-year-old Sloane Stephens beat Serena Williams in Australia to reach the semis via a three-set match that ESPN will be talking about throughout the day.

Meanwhile, we were mesmerized this morning by the guy who wedgie bombed ESPN’s South Carolina-Missouri crew. You just never know what screencappers will find while they’re watching some meaningless SEC basketball game in January.

Jennifer Capriati probably missed the Serena match, too.
